Reports emerged on Friday suggesting they had ended their engagement, but the Fifty Shades Of Grey actress‘ representative assured People magazine that they are still happily together. The breakup rumours followed sightings of Dakota Johnson in Malibu over the weekend without her emerald engagement ring.

The pair was most recently seen in the U.K. in June, as Dakota Johnson supported Chris at the Glastonbury Festival.
Chris and Dakota Johnson started their relationship in 2017. Although they briefly separated in 2019 and again in May 2024, by June, sources suggest that they were “going strong.” An insider stated they had experienced ups and downs but were clearly back together. Their relationship has also attracted attention due to their close connection with Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.

Earlier another rumours spread that Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson’s romance ended over their contradicting commitments and hectic schedules. Some sources claimed: “They’re both busy people,” they explained, noting:
Dakota Johnson “Chris has been in Europe with Coldplay, and they both have personal priorities, passions, and work commitments which don’t naturally intertwine with each other.”
“They wanted it to work, but it just hasn’t, and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on,” the reported insider concluded. Reports suggest, Dakota Johnson seemingly hinted at their breakup last weekend during a stroll with her dog.
However, later all these rumors were busted with new reports.
