After her spouse Jeff Baena passed away, Aubrey Plaza and his family have spoken out.
On Friday, January 3, Baena, a writer and filmmaker, took his own life at the age of 47. Baena’s filmography included almost a dozen directing credits.
Jeff Baena’s professional journey
Notably, he wrote and directed the zombie comedy Life After Beth, in which Plaza starred. He subsequently went on to create the anthology series Cinema Toast, which debuted as Plaza’s own directorial work and broadcast on Showtime in 2021.
Jeff Baena received her degree from NYU’s film school. He began working for Robert Zemeckis as a production assistant. After that, he served as Russell’s associate editor until the two men started writing together.

In 2011, he got to recognize Plaza and began relationship her. When Plaza, forty, called Baena her “darling husband“ on Instagram in May 2021, lovers determined that the two had been married.
