BUTAfter the pain and disappointment of leaving Roland Garros due to a horrific injury, Alexander Zverev returned to normal after surgery.
The German who had to retire against the eventual French Open champion. Rafael Nadal in the Roland Gerros semi-finals you confirmed that he went under the knife and is in the process of recovering.
“Each of us has our own path in life” Zverev posted on instagram. “It’s a part of me. Next week I will reach the highest ranking of my career as number two in the world, but this morning I had to undergo surgery.
“After a more detailed medical examination in Germany, we received confirmation that all three lateral ligaments on my right ankle were torn.
“In order to get back to competition as quickly as possible, to ensure proper healing of all ligaments, and to restore full ankle stability, surgery was the best option.
“My rehab is starting now and I will do my best to come back stronger than ever!
“I continue to receive many messages and I would like to once again thank everyone for their support during such a difficult time.”
