Obi-Datti presidential campaign accuse powerful forces of grounding its aircraft ahead of Ibadan rally

the presidential campaign council of the Labor party (LP) accused ‘the powers that be’ of grounding an Obi-dient plane ahead of the party’s presidential rally in the old city of Ibadan in Oyo state.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Head of Media, Obi-Datti Campaign, Diran Onifade, said the plane was only grounded for regulatory reasons.

Onifade, however, urged party supporters to ignore the ‘bad rumour’ claiming that the plane was impounded.

  • The Obi-dient plane is currently grounded by the powers that be ‘for regulatory reasons’ only. Please ignore any bad rumors. Our big rally in Ibadan is going ahead as planned,” the brief statement said.

The rally in Ibadan: Obi later arrived in Ibadan for the rally where he was greeted by many supporters. As one of the main contenders for next year’s election, he enjoys support from many young Nigerians and is also creating a buzz on social media.

While observers say his party does not have the structure to challenge the main political parties in the country – the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) – the former Anambra State Governor continues to make millions of poor and disaffected Nigerians are his support base.
