Watch the moment Kelly Rowland silences the crowd booing Chris Brown at the 2022 AMAs
kelly rowland silenced a booing crowd while winning on behalf of Chris Brown at the 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs).
The 2022 AMA ceremony took place at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
At the ceremony, Brown won an award in the ‘Best R&B Male Artist’ category.
However, Brown was absent after his Michael Jackson tribute performance was abruptly cancelled.
While accepting the award on Brown’s behalf, Rowland silenced the audience who booed and made unclear comments about Brown.
Taking the stage, a certain segment of the audience made apparently disapproving comments about Brown’s victory.
In response, Kelly Rowland interrupted, saying, “Excuse me, cut, relax.”
“But I wanted to say to Chris, thank you very much for making great R&B music,” added the American singer.
“I want to say ‘thank you’ for being an amazing artist. I’ll take this prize and bring it to you.
“I love you. Congratulations. And congratulations to all the nominees in this category.”
