Paris Saint-Germain beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday 15 February. After controlling the game from start to finish, the Parisians won in stoppage time thanks to an untenable Kylian Mbappe goal.
Kylian Mbappe provided Paris Saint-Germain with a victory in extra-time against Real Madrid (1-0) in the eighth leg of the Champions League at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday 15 February.
In the first round of this shock, Lionel Messi missed a penalty (62nd) and Kylian Mbappé shot from the right (90+4) ) passed his man between Thibaut Courtois’s legs, so far unable to get through.
The France international popped in in stoppage time as we had a goalless draw to fire a winning cross into the Madrid net.
The hardworking and determined Parisians showed their conquering faces throughout the game and they paid off, while Real Madrid were non-existent in attack, although Karim Benzema returned to action after a three-week injury hiatus .
It still showed the same mentality in the return game at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu, dreaming of cheering Kylian Mbappe in a Merenguez shirt next season.
But for now, with every acceleration of the 2018 world champions, Paris Saint-Germain supporters are capsized.
In the other game of the night, favourites Manchester City took a big step towards the quarter-finals with a 0-5 victory over Atlético de Portugal in Lisbon.
