TTAC gets game-changing design language – zimo News


When you log on to this August site next week, things will be different. The first time…well, a long time.

I know, you’ve heard of redesigns before. I even saw the model! But for various reasons, things never went beyond the planning stage.

However, now that our parent company is benefiting from the partnership, TTAC will receive a new dud.

You may have a problem.

Here’s what I know:

  • You will need to reset your password after updating to continue commenting.
  • Old comments will be migrated.
  • The site will remain operational during the migration.
  • I’ll be monitoring my inbox and advice inbox for specific questions from all of you.
  • The migration should be complete early next week. Due to unforeseen events, I’ve purposely been vague on the timeline, but I hope the migration will be done by mid-week at the latest even if we have issues.
  • Old articles will be migrated.
  • Some things will change, but the core user experience shouldn’t change too much. Comments, tags, categories – all the little things you see should be preserved in one form or another. Fast facts, for example, will continue to be part of car reviews. The site will be different, but overall it will navigate in basically the same way.

Change can be welcome or difficult. Aside from the business issues and opportunities that the redesign brings, I’m pained by this. Part of me thinks that, from an aesthetic standpoint, it’s time for a TTAC update. While the site has changed over time – some Wayback Machine research before I became a semi-regular reader suggested the site looked different in the past, but not much different from its present form – it didn’t Really big change, all I know.

On the other hand, the familiarity of the actual site can sometimes feel good and comfortable.

That said, I’ve seen what the new site looks like, and the design is cleaner and cleaner. And more modern.

I have a hard time finding a good model car. I think this change is more of a C8 Corvette than a retro Mustang that was redesigned years ago. The shape is familiar, and so is the mission, but the way the engine moves makes the car even better.

However, you have to get used to it. A mid-engine Corvette? No manual? ! However, the car is better than ever. Although it is very different from the previous generation. Or all who have been here before.

I hope that’s how you feel about the TTAC – with fond memories of the past, but knowing the new car is much better.
