The oceanographic vessel Ramón Margalef, of the Spanish Oceanographic Institute (IEO) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), is due to arrive in La Palma this Saturday, after stopping in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Friday, to study the effects on the marine ecosystem of the volcanic eruption that began last Sunday.
Scientific staff will also carry out a comprehensive geomorphological study of the seabed in light of the possible existence of emission sources under the sea, the Ministry of Science and Innovation said.
