The Hospital Nacional de Paraplejicos de Toledo is the cradle of many athletes who have seen their lives cut short by an injury to the spinal cord and who have found in sport a support for their recovery and a “leitmotif” for their life, as it is. This is the case for some who will participate in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The paraplegic hospital has become a national and international benchmark in the recovery of people with spinal cord injuries and in this task, sport is a “fundamental task for their rehabilitation”, as the sports monitor of this hospital center, José Miguel López.
