With a 60% improve in used video game searches* on Google over the past month, gamers are shifting their behavior from buying new games to searching for second-hand games as an alternative. It’s the result of tighter budgets for gaming amid the rising price of life, according to a report from NPD Group.
In response to World Gaming Month, we’ve been intrigued by to find out which game is the most popular among players in the international second-hand market. To do that, we analyzed the current gross sales of more than 60 of the most popular video games and 15 game consoles on a leading international reselling e-commerce website, Revealing the world’s best-selling pre-owned recreation!
Key results:
- Minecraft is essentially the most coveted second-hand recreation, with 5,700 used devices purchased online not too long ago, best of all games reviewed!
- The newly released catch game Obligation Name: Fashionable Warfare 2 is classified second with 5,500 used video games purchased online. GTA V positioned third with 4,500 gross sales.

Minecraft is the most popular game on the second hand market with 5,700 Used items purchased in the last three months, the best among all games reviewed! Often called the best-selling game of all time across various platforms, it’s no surprise that Minecraft also ranks No. 1 on the second-hand market. Pre-owned Minecraft PS4 editions buy for $13 in common, a 50% lower cost than a new official copy.
Following closely behind is Obligation Name: Fashionable Warfare II with 5,500 Recently purchased used video games from the second hand market. Released just a month ago, this first-person shooter, sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Fashionable Warfare, has already become one of the biggest games streaming this month. Typical listings for this pre-owned game are priced at $55, only 10% cheaper to buy a new model.
Grand Theft Auto Vusually called GTA 5, ranks third with 4500 Used video games bought not long ago online. Rockstar’s enduring game, first released back in 2013, has made headlines again after launching on the PS5 and XBOX series earlier this year. The current purchase price for the used GTA V PS5 version was $22 on averagesaving players more than 27% better than buying a new model!
