In the video shared by RPN DYKC Cebu, the teacher explained to his students how their parents earn money so they can support their studies.

In the illustration you gave, you told how parents maximize their budget if they only earn P500 per day and have four members in the family who need to eat three times a day. This means that at least 12 heads are being fed daily.

He pointed out that if each meal costs 50 pesos and the daily budget is 600 pesos, the parents’ salary is insufficient.

The teacher pleaded with the students not to ask their parents for more, especially if they were low-income. “Kaya naghihirap ang mga magulang niyo para madala kayo sa eskwela para magkaroon kayo ng maayos na trabaho at sweldo kaysa sa kanila,” she said.

He also hopes they don’t get mad at their parents because they just want to save money. The video had millions of views on social media at the time of publication.
