Starbucks Japan introduces the second Christmas frappuccino for the 2022 holiday season

New limited edition drinks spread golden festive cheer.

Just last month, Starbucks revealed the first of its annual 2022 Christmas Frappuccinos – a red and white drink called Strawberry-velvet Brownie Frappuccino.

Now the coffee chain has unveiled its second Christmas limited edition, and this time it’s a golden brown named drink Mille-feuille Frappuccino Caramel Butter.

Available in a tall size for 690 yen ($4.87), the new Frappuccino is rumored to have a crunchy texture that mimics the feeling of eating mille-feuillethe famous multi-layer puff pastry, the name of which translates as “a thousand leaves.”

A rich custard sauce is drizzled all over the drink, with caramel paste, fiantine – a crunchy, finely baked pancake batter – and breadcrumbs layered in the middle to resemble mille-feuille. A smooth buttery caramel sauce is added to the mix as well as on top to accentuate the fragrant notes of caramel and rich butter.

The cold drink will be joined by, among others: Mille-feuille Latte caramel butter in a more warming version, complete with butter caramel sauce, pudding sauce, espresso and frothed milk. This one will also be covered in fiantine and cake crumbs for a fun touch of texture, and will come in sizes from Short to Venti for 550-680 yen.

Both new drinks will be on the menu from November 30 to December 25 or while supplies last.
