The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said that the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, knows that he cannot and will not win the 2023 general election, accusing him of playing
This revelation by Soludo appears to be a reaction to the criticisms that followed his statement a few days ago, where he admitted that the much talked about investments made by Peter Obi when he was the governor of Anambra State, did not it’s worth it.
This disclosure is contained in a public statement entitled, ‘History Beckons and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1)’ issued by Soludo on Monday, November 14, 2022.
Soludo, in the article, said that the presidential contest in the 2023 general election is serious between 2 individuals and 2 parties that others describe as just an exciting drama.
Soludo’s thoughts on Obi’s chances: The article in part reads, “Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he’s playing, and so do we, and he knows we do.
- “The game he is playing is the main reason he is not coming back to APGA. The harsh reality (and some say, God forbid!) that there are two people/parties seriously vying for the presidency; others are excited that drama!
- “That many Americans do not like the fact that Joe Biden (79 years) and Donald Trump (76 years) are the two presidential frontrunners of their parties does not remove the fact that if they both come out as candidates , surely one of them will win. will be president in 2024.
- “As my brother, I wish him well and even pray for him. I told him during his courtesy call that my prayer is that he or Prof Umeadi of APGA will win, so why not?
- “That’s from my heart, but I also told him that my head and facts on the ground lead me to know that the possibility of this is close to zero (what I won’t say in front of you, I won’t say in behind you).
- “That’s why I told him my opinion. In fact, there is no credible path for him to be close to the first two positions, and if not taken care of, he will not even be close to the third position.
- ”Analysts told him you don’t need structure to win. Fantasy! Of course, the LP won the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun on social media and through phantom polls, while getting almost 2,000 votes on the ground. Building a credible third force for Nigeria’s presidential election will require a different strategy and much harder work.”
For the record: Recall that during an interview on a Channels Television program, Politics Today, a few days ago, Governor Soludo dismissed talks of Peter Obi investing in a multinational brewery by saying that the investment is currently worthless.
Obi used the investments when he was governor of Anambra State as one of his selling points to voters in the 2023 presidential election.
