Ukraine the president Vladimir Zelensky you declared the state martial law in their country in response to attacks from Russia on the Donbass region and other cities throughout Ukraine.
What is martial law?
Martial law defined as: “A law enforced by the armed forces that is enforced by the government in an emergency situation where civilian law enforcement is unable to maintain public order and security.”
And in such an emergency, Zelensky resorted to this law in an attempt to stabilize pro-separatist and Russian forces that seek separation Ukraine.
Zelensky’s message to Ukraine
In a statement Thursday morning Zelensky informed the Ukrainian public about the situation in the country.
“Dear citizens of Ukraine, this morning The president [Vladimir] Insert announced a special military operation in Donbass. Russia struck at our military infrastructure and our border guards. There were explosions in many cities. Ukraine,” he said.
“We are introducing martial law throughout our country. A minute ago I had a conversation with The president [Joe] Biden. in US have already begun to consolidate international support.
“Today, each of you must remain calm. Stay at home if possible. We are working. The army is working. The entire defense and security sector is working.
“Don’t panic. We are strong. We are ready for anything. We will defeat everyone because we Ukraine.”
Zelensky also showed that he tried to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin Wednesday, but no luck.
