Nuclear delegates from South Korea and the United States today discussed in Seoul a possible shipment of humanitarian aid to North Korea, a country facing dire economic conditions and with which they want to resume talks on denuclearization.

“We have discussed possible humanitarian aid to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North’s official name) and we reaffirm US support for inter-Korean relations and dialogue, as stated in the joint statement between our two leaders in May,” said US delegate Sung. Kim, explained after the meeting.
