Sanrio’s characters take over Baskin Robbins Japan in My Melody and Kuromi’s Sweet Christmas

A bit naughtya bit prettyand both ice cream… creamy.

Pokémon aren’t the only characters that work with their own ice cream! From December 1 to December 25, Baskin Robbins – or “31” as it’s known in Japan – serves up a series of menu items featuring My Melody and Kuromi in My Melody and Kuromi’s Sweet Christmas. My Melody has a reputation as a sweet and innocent personality while Kuromi serves as her rival.

▼ Together, they make a cute couple that makes for a great collaboration.

My Melody and Kuromi’s first collaboration appears on Baskin Robbins mugs. When ordering the Small Double (490 yen or US$3.62) or Regular Double (710 yen) size ice cream, you can choose between the two My Melody and Kuromi plastic cups pictured above.

▼ And there is a new flavor, although it is not related to Sanrio characters.

Who is that dog inside the ice cream cups, you ask? This is Lily, a toy poodle character that Baskin Robbins Japan conceived especially for this collaboration. It even has its own limited edition ice cream flavor called Holiday Greeting! It’s a swirl of raspberry and pistachio ice cream with sweet pieces of marshmallow.

▼ Sometimes two scoops are not enough.

If you want a little more ice cream than just a cup, you can get the My Melody and Kuromi Variety Box set. You can choose eight flavors of ice cream that will be in it. It costs 2460 yen for a small ice cream and 3230 yen for a regular one. You also get a cute blanket with the purchase of a variety box!

▼ Or maybe you want some ice cream?

My Melody and Kuromi ice cream are also available. To My Melody and Kuromi Christmas Sundae costs 720 yen and includes two scoops of ice cream, sponge cake, strawberry sauce, chocolate pretzels and whipped cream. It’s almost like a strawberry shortcake.

▼ Something lighter and prettier.

My Melody and Kuromi also get their own spotlights with their single scoop ice cream. The ice cream cups have the characters depicted from head down, and each version is topped with an edible version of their ears, whipped cream, and sprinkles.

▼ And for the grand finale…ice cream cake!

Probably the sweetest part of this collaboration is My Melody and Kuromi Christmas Cake. The cake is actually split in half to represent their two parallel personalities, and the ice cream flavors in each half are different.

Half of My Melody has Very Very Strawberry and Vanilla ice cream on a white biscuit, and half of Kuromi is chocolate and dark chocolate ice cream with heart-shaped chocolate pieces resting on a chocolate biscuit.

▼ If you’re lucky, you can get a free coloring page with most co-op purchases!

If you’re a fan of My Melody or Kuromi, don’t miss this Christmas collaboration! While all products are expected to be available by Christmas, some stocks may run out earlier.
