Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- Salvamento Marítimo rescued this Saturday 74 people of sub-Saharan origin who were trying to reach Lanzarote on board a rubber boat, including four children, reported the island’s Emergency Consortium .
The boat was located around 7:45 p.m. about 30 kilometers south of Lanzarote, loaded with 58 men, 12 women and four minors. All were transferred to Arrecife.
It is the second boat with immigrants rescued this Saturday in the Canary Islands. At the start of the afternoon, Salvamento provided assistance some 36 kilometers from Fuerteventura to another tire with 56 occupants, 44 men and twelve women of sub-Saharan origin. ECE
