WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States believes Russia and Ukraine still hold the vast majority of combat power as the Russian invasion enters its 13th day, a senior U.S. defense official said on Tuesday.

The official, who asked not to be named, added that the United States sees no sign that Russia is pulling troops from elsewhere in Russia to add to the more than 150,000 troops she has pre-organized and deployed in Ukraine.

Russian troops quarantined the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, but the U.S. is not yet convinced it has entered the city, the official said.
