Iran has eliminated its police morality units after more than two months of protests sparked by the arrest and death in custody of Mahsa Amini for allegedly violating the country’s strict women’s dress code, the ISNA news agency reported.

“The morality police have nothing to do with the judiciary” and have been abolished, Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said.
