Patrick Beverley is a player who has made a name for himself over the years. He likes to annoy his opponents and is an ardent supporter of his teammates. Also, even if they are cooking him, he will still talk down to you.
Last night, Beverley caused quite a bit of controversy thanks to her performance against the Phoenix Suns. In the clip below, Lakers youngster Austin Reaves was on the ground. Deandre Ayton was making fun of him, and this angered Beverley. Consequently, the Lakers star turned around and pushed Ayton to the ground.

This sparked a miniature fight on the ground. The players objected to Beverley’s actions and immediately let her know. Patrick Beverley didn’t seem to care, as he was simply defending the boy from him. In general, he is exactly what he has trained himself for.
Still, the Suns were upset with Beverley, since it’s not the first time he’s done something like this. Devin Booker addressed this after the game, saying, βPat needs to stop pushing people in the back. Push them in the chest. If you remember, Beverley did a similar thing against Chris Paul.
“Pat [Bev] You need to stop pushing people in the back. Push them in the chest.

These types of actions can usually have consequences the next time. However, basketball does not have a fighting code like hockey. This means that they will simply have to beat him where it matters, on the scoreboard. Of course, that’s exactly what they did last night, as the Suns beat the Lakers for the eighth time in a row.
The Lakers are now down to 5-11 on the season, which is definitely a hard pill to swallow. LeBron has yet to return to the court, and there’s no word yet on when he will again. Needless to say, this is not the start the Lakers expected. Even Beverley’s energy is no match for the rest of the league.
