NSUKKA: The parish priest of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Eburummiri, Ibagwa-Aka, South Igbo-Eze Local Government Area of ​​Enugu State, Rev. Fr. Victor Ishiwu, went in the early hours of Saturday, allegedly kidnapped while officiating adoration prayers.

Vanguard deduced that the kidnappers stormed the place of worship after midnight and began firing sporadically into the air.

It was further learned that the faithful, including Father Ishiwu, ran for safety and dispersed to different places.

However, according to an eyewitness account, the kidnappers, who reportedly spoke Pidgin and Fulani English, followed the cleric to the Parsonage and threatened to burn down the church premises if he refused to come out.

It was further learned that when the clergyman refused to heed their warning, the kidnappers allegedly forced their way into the Parsonage through the church chapel they opened.

They allegedly took the clergyman to an unknown destination when they accessed his hideout in the Parsonage.

When contacted, Enugu State Police Command spokesman Daniel Ndukwe said he had not yet received a detailed report on the incident…
