New York: Influential Muslim Cleric on Trial for Encouraging Woman to Carry Out Jihadist Massacres

A Muslim cleric? How did he miss all the Quranic verses about peace and tolerance that non-Muslim experts on Islam like Pope Francis and Hillary Clinton are so sure exist and are so pervasive in Islamic theology?

“Radical Islamic Cleric Shaikh Abdullah Faisal Stands Trial For Trying To Recruit ‘NYPD Cop’ For ISIS,” By Elizabeth Rosner and Emily Crane, New York Post, Nov. 28, 2022:

A radical Islamic cleric described by prosecutors as “one of the most influential English-speaking terrorists of our time” is on trial in Manhattan for allegedly encouraging an undercover NYPD officer to carry out terrorist attacks.

During opening statements in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, prosecutors described Shaikh Abdullah Faisal, 59, as an Islamic State recruiter and marriage broker who had committed “wide-ranging crimes of terrorism.”

Faisal is accused of communicating with the undercover NYPD officer via email, text and video chat in an attempt to encourage her to join ISIS and carry out attacks abroad between 2015 and 2017.

Supposedly, he also offered to introduce the woman, posing as a possible jihadist, to a suitable husband within the terrorist group…

The militant cleric, born Trevor William Forrest in Jamaica, had made several online posts pointing to his alleged extremism, prosecutors said.

They pointed to one of Osama bin Laden’s speeches that Faisal had posted on his website and insisted that “every word is a jewel.”

“With the permission of Allah, we are going to take a look at a speech that Osama Bin Laden gave…. everything he said is of extreme importance, every word is like a jewel,” the suspected terrorist wrote, according to prosecutors.

In speeches he made and posted online, prosecutors say Faisal allegedly encouraged his followers to wage jihad against enemies of Islam and even kill Americans, Jews and Hindus.

“The way to go is not the nerd. The way forward is the bullet,” he said in a speech, according to the indictment.

“They should cut the throats of the kafirs with machetes,” he told his followers, using a term for non-believers.

Faisal, who served four years in prison following his 2003 conviction for inciting racial hatred in Britain, was arrested in his native Jamaica in 2017 and extradited to New York…
