Netflix’s Sonic Prime Trailer Sees A Multiverse Full Of Furry Speedsters

After the first teaser released for Netflix’s Sonic Prime series, we finally have our first full trailer and what the series is really about. In Sonic Prime, Sonic runs through his own multiverse, encounters familiar friends who don’t remember him, and confronts the Council, a rogue leadership consisting of various Eggmen.

When a battle with Dr. Eggman transports Sonic to another world, he finds himself at the center of a war for all of reality. Now Sonic must speed through the Shatterverse as he discovers strange worlds and recruits new friends on an epic once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Sonic Prime is executive produced by a collaboration of SEGA, WildBrain, Man of Action and Erik Wies, an animation producer and writer with nearly 30 years in the industry. He has worked on Spongebob Squarepants, Rugrats, Minions, Ice Age, and Samurai Jack.

This will be the sixth Sonic animated series, not including the 1996 film and crossover special episode OK KO.

Netflix’s Sonic Prime series will consist of one 40-minute episode and seven 20-minute episodes that will be released all at once.

The cast includes some new additions to the Sonic franchise, as The Dragon Prince’s Deven Mack takes on the role of Sonic with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s Ashleigh Ball flying high as Tails’ sidekick.

Sonic Prime premieres on Netflix on December 15.
