Shaquan Montez Sweat, an American football defensive spiker for the Washington Commanders of the Nationwide Soccer League, was born on September 4, 1996. (NFL). Before being taken by Washington in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he played college soccer at Michigan State, Copiah-Lincoln Neighborhood School and Mississippi State.

Sweat was considered one of the best tight ends in the country while attending Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Sweat dedicated himself to Michigan State to play college soccer, where he redshirted in 2015 after appearing in just two games in 2014 and recording one sack. In 2016, he graduated from Michigan State and enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Neighborhood School in Mississippi, where he played soccer. He moved once again in 2017 to join the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Sweat racked up 10.5 sacks in his lone season at Mississippi State and was selected to the 2017 All-SEC football team. Sweat was placed on injured reserve after breaking his jaw during a Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos.

On December 8, 2021, he was added to the COVID-19 reserve checklist after testing positive. He was taken off the COVID-19 checklist on December 18 and added back to the active list two days later. Sweat sacked quarterback Jalen Hurts in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles and also caused a fumble, which Landon Collins recovered.
