When you think of the famous James Bond rides, the Moke probably isn’t the first car you think of. Sure, there’s the famous A brand, but the prolific fictional spy has probably been through more vehicles than he’s ever owned a Bond girl.On that long list, Mork appears four times, appearing in You only live twice, life and death follow, love my spyand Moonlighter.
To make this connection a reality, Moke America is releasing a special 60 Years of Bond version of its eMoke, a battery-powered low-speed vehicle (LSV). Bond 60 is actually the second 007-themed Mork after the Santa Monique version. And this, named after a fictional island life and death– Tropical themed with a striped surrey top, the ’60s look more like James Bond in a tuxedo.
It has a dark blue livery with a beige soft top and seats. There are also black wheels and 007 graphics on the hood, rear fender and spare tire cover. Wood dash cladding and a wood-rimmed steering wheel enhance the otherwise sparse four-seat interior, which also includes a Bluetooth audio system and a rear-view camera. Top speed is no higher than the standard version, with a top speed of 25 mph.
The 60 Years of Bond car costs $28,975, about $4,500 more than the standard Moke with the same options. Again, that’s a $115,000 savings over the cheapest Aston Martin.Grab an extra scratch at the casino and enjoy an evening Baccarat.
