In that, AP meticulously refers to Muslims who traveled to Iraq and Syria to fight for the Islamic State (ISIS). He is not curious why this nation of “unspoiled beaches and expensive island resorts” would be so full of jihadists. That kind of question doesn’t seem to be of interest to authorities anywhere.

Maldives police have arrested 14 people who were allegedly working with foreign Islamic extremists to carry out a bomb attack in the small archipelago state, police said.
The suspects had been working with the Islamic State group and were apparently planning an attack with the intent to kill many people, Uswath Ahmed, the nation’s anti-terrorism chief, told reporters late Monday. He did not elaborate.
He said that the suspects were arrested last Friday in three towns in the country and raided 13 homes.
