Kia EV6 wins Wards ‘Best Interior’ award

Wards Auto takes note of Kia’s continuous improvement.

Kia announced in a press release that its latest electric vehicle has won the prestigious Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX award. It’s the latest accolade for the automaker as it continues to expand its “Plan S” phase around its commitment to electric vehicles.

As a reminder, here’s what the EV6 looks like inside:

Wards Auto employees consider factors such as design, quality of materials, fit and finish of said materials, ergonomics and value. For the first time, they integrated interface controls into the composition. This includes infotainment systems, their availability, the displays themselves and associated controls.

2022 marks the first year that the Top 10 Interior and Top 10 UX awards are now an award, setting a higher bar for automakers.

As for Kia, it couldn’t be more proud. “The EV6’s bold, modern design elements and well-thought-out integrated interior solutions and intuitive technologies reinforce Kia’s vision for the future of electric vehicles,” said Steven Center, Kia America’s chief operating officer and executive vice president.

Since the EV6 went on sale in the US earlier this year, they’ve moved more than 10,000 units. This latest honor reflects the changing perception of the Kia brand, which is working to stop being seen as a cheap brand with a 10-year warranty.

for example? The EV6’s cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, qualified as a finalist for the same award, but was not deemed the winner. On the other hand, sister luxury brands represented by the Genesis GV70 secured the top 10.
