It’s easy to say that Jake Paul isn’t afraid of the spotlight. In his most recent public appearance, the Youtuber turned boxer set his sights on UFC legend Nate Diazwho went out with a big win at UFC 279.
Nate Diaz has now been rumoured to be interested in pursuing a career in boxing, given that his UFC contract has run out and that he is not interested ever going back.
At the press conference for his October 29th bout against another UFC legend, the brazilian Anderson Silva, Jake Paul surprisingly voiced respect for Silva as well as Diaz. In fact, he described him as a “motherfucking legend” of the sport.
He also said he didn’t want to “look over” Silva, and claims to be fully focused on fighting the 47 year-old on that fight.
After the initial praise, Jake Paul disrespects Nate Diaz
“I will slap the stockton out of him!”, he said. Stockton, California, is Nate Diaz’s hometown. Paul then went on to declare himself “the real king of Stockton”, and that if Diaz wants the crown “he has to come and get it”.
Asked if he would ever dare to face Diaz in MMA, Jake Paul said “no, I’m a boxer”, and that he has never trained in kicking. The Ohio native has vowed to go ‘undefeated and then retire’ in a 15-fight career as he warned: ‘I’m only getting better’.
