I still have an idea for you to take a walk in Vosges! This time, we met near the Masevaux valley in Alsace. A trail to climb from Rimbach to a charming little lake. I like hiking in Lac des Perches!
Often on weekends, I only have one wish: to go for a walk in the Vosges! When I arrived at Grand Est, I fell in love with an area.I also share here My favorite walk In the plot between Alsace and Lorraine.
At the end of summer, I want to take a short hike in Vosges, not far from Mulhouse, which is about 45 minutes by car. I found the ideal place: in the Masevaux valley, around Ballon d’Alsace.I have done the area A beautiful hike to Lake Alfed, I like it very much.
But this time, we climbed up the beautiful Lac des Perches from the village of Rimbach-près-Masevaux.
Still lost? Or almost!
I am used to picking hiking routes from paper guides, often with elusive explanations, and eventually get lost every time. Well, our goal is to walk on Lake Neuweiher, we never really found the starting point, because the explanation is vague (“When you reach the village, turn left. Huh?”). We found ourselves clearly on the wrong left, but at the beginning of the hike anyway. So jump, I ignited my new Visolando app Colleagues recommend, open a shop IGN map (Trial version is free and then paid), you can see all the paths marked by the Vosges Club directly from your location! Astonishing. It will only change my life! If you often hike, I suggest you research…
→ Information: Bring the app or map, because my explanation alone may not be accurate enough to hike in Lac des Perches! If you wander in the woods, I don’t take any responsibility: P
Hiking in the Vosges from Rimbach-près-Masevaux
We decided to go from Rimbach to Lac des Perches, but we didn’t know how long it would take. But for the difference in height, we are warned…
period: 2h30 to 3h is the loop, about 6 kilometers
altitude: From Rimbach-près-Masevaux (579 m) to Lac des Perches (984 m) about 400 m
Leave: It is indeed the village of Rimbach-près-Masevaux (68275), be careful because there are many Rimbach there! There is a parking lot dedicated to hikers. From there, you go up to rue du Sternsee in the village. At the beginning of the walk, you will cross the Erlenmattbaechle stream.
mark: Yellow circle, blue triangle go. For the return, we follow the direction Rimbach.
This is a very sporty hike because it climbs all the way! But if you have walking shoes (a section of the path with big rocks, but no passage that makes you dizzy), the road is relatively easy. It is best not to have knee problems suddenly!
Alternative (not tested): You can also start from Auberge Le Rouge Gazon in Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle and walk to Lac des Perches. The itinerary here!
Walk the Vosges: Go to Perch Lake
We climbed along the path on the right (the most fascinating), then came down from the other side and made a circle. After a small wooden bridge, you will cross the majestic forest. We admire the mossy woods.
This road is getting more and more climbing!Out of breath, we arrived at a ranch full of Vosges cows, where there is a farm hotel (Closed this Saturday, but there is a sign saying you can buy cheese there and have lunch there-it’s better to call first). Before continuing our journey, we admire these typical cows in the region. They are wearing black skirts with a white line on their backs. I am a fan of them.visit Alsace Eco Museum This summer, I learned that they have almost disappeared in the last century!
After this episode, it climbed more candidly, in the pine needles…but we were rewarded with a view!
Then, we finally reached the goal of this hike, in the Lac des Perches in Green Water. The scene was calm and there were two families, including fishermen, taking advantage of the tranquility here. But other than that, we didn’t meet anyone on the way and on the way back. This is the fun of being alone in nature♡
The trails along the lake require some rock climbing, which is fun and there is also a picnic spot. In the water, we see many poles through transparency!
Our picnic: tomatoes from the garden, homemade bread sandwiches and Swiss Gruyere cheese. Of course there are hard-boiled eggs.
After drinking the coffee in the thermos and resting, we decided not to hang out… A bit of dark clouds came, and we were going to announce rain before the end of the day.
As we circled, we descended to the right along the marked path, on the same side of the lake we reached.
There, there are more things to put down. Surprisingly, once we walked through a forest planted by humans for logging, the tree trunks were neatly arranged, giving this place a very special atmosphere.
We just drank a few drops and arrived at the parking lot. Yes, we will have pain tomorrow, but we are very happy for this ride!
This hike to Lac des Perches is exactly what we need to get back in shape after a month without having to walk too much-because of our adventures in Brittany (But we didn’t take a long hike in Breizh this summer because it…too hot! Yes, I know you don’t believe me…)
Do you know this little lake? I really like the area around Masevaux♡ It is so peaceful and green!
