Ida Vitale: “‘Time without keys’ is without a doubt the last book I am writing”

The Uruguayan poet Ida Vitale celebrated her 98th birthday by reading her latest collection of poems, “Tiempo sin clave” (Tusquets), in Barcelona, ​​and assured that “this book is without a doubt the last” that she is writing and that “maybe I shouldn’t have come forward with the little critical judgment” that remains.

A day after her birthday, the literary critic, translator and essayist was surprised by a large bouquet of sunflowers, a symbol of “the admiration we all feel” for her, said one of the organizers of Casa América Cataluña, a cultural center of the event took place.
