This is no surprise. Non-Muslims paying for the maintenance of Muslims is a Qur’anic dictum:
“Fight against those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, nor keep what is prohibited which has been prohibited by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until let the Jizya pay with voluntary submission, and they feel subjugated” (Quran 9:29).
Caliph Umar said that the jizya payments of the dhimmis were the source of livelihood for the Muslims:
“Narrated Juwairiya bin Qudama at-Tamimi: We said to ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab, ‘O Chief of the believers! Advise us. He said: ‘I advise you to abide by the Convention of Allah (made with the Dhimmis) as it is the convention of your Prophet and the source of your dependents’ livelihood (i.e. the taxes of the Dhimmis)’” (Bukhari 4.53 .388). )
British jihadist preacher Anjem Choudary said in February 2013:
“We are on the Jihad seekers allowance, we take the Jizya (protection money paid to Muslims by non-Muslims) which is ours anyway. The normal situation is to take money from the Kafir (non-Muslims), isn’t it? So this is a normal situation. They give us the money. You work, give us the money. Allah Akbar, we take the money. Berlin: Raid Tuesday morning due to Corona aid fraud. The searches are being carried out in six federal states.
