TI have Los Angeles Galaxy signed the former Bayern midfielder Douglas Costa as the third designated player.
The Galaxy announced a long-planned move on Thursday for the speedy veteran on a six-month loan from Grmio in his native Brazil. Costa, 31, has already been loaned to Grmio from Juventus but is expected to sign a new contract with Galaxy later this year.

Costa then went on to score six goals and seven assists in the season on loan. Juventus in 2017-18. He joined the Italian giants permanently in 2018, but has gone on loan to Bayern and Grmio since October 2020. Costa also scored three goals in 31 caps for Brazil.
“Douglas is a world-class player and a proven champion of the highest caliber,” Galaxy Coach. Greg Veiny said. “His ability to create and complete will add another level to our attack. We are excited to integrate him into the team as we get closer to the start of the season.”
He becomes the last international star to follow in the footsteps of David Beckham with a mid or late career move to the Galaxy, one of Major League Soccer’s best-known franchises. Costa joins Mexican forward Javier “Chicarito” Herndez and French striker Quin Cabral as the Galaxy’s current designated players who can be paid more than their teammates.
Galaxy will host New York City Football Club. regular season opening February 27.
