Floyd Mayweather is undoubtedly one of the richest people in the sport. He has amassed a fortune of over a billion dollars during his career and continues to do so. Although he has retired from professional fighting, exhibition fights have proven to be lucrative and Mayweather has no qualms about participating in them.
Mayweather’s wealth has always been extremely important to him. Consequently, he named his own brand “The Money Team”. He leans on his enormous wealth and ultimately makes him a polarizing figure. However, there are plenty of fans who absolutely love this about him.
Having said all of that, it should come as no surprise that Mayweather wants to spend money on art. Art is something that can significantly increase your status, and rich people love nothing more than to drop some art. In fact, the Art Basel shows in Miami are a great place to get some pieces.
According to TMZ, Mayweather and some associates were in Miami, where they attended the SCOPE art exhibit. Later, Mayweather took a look at the art and was so moved that he spent more than $3.1 million. As it stands, there is no footage of what Mayweather did.
Plus, Mayweather will be attending more Art Basel shows, which means his wallet could get a little thinner soon. Regardless, Mayweather certainly has the money to pay for it all.
