Everton‘s Premier League clash with Newcastle United was stopped during the second half after a fan tied themselves to the goalpost with a cable tie around their throat.
The incident took place at the Gladwys Street End of Goodison Park, and the fan was protesting on behalf of the Just Stop Oil group. A seven-minute stoppage took place, with bolt cutters and scissors from the dugout used to remove the protestor.
Once the stewards had cut the tie, another pitch invader climbed out from the stand to confront the protestor. The protestor then had to be dragged off the pitch, and he faced the wrath of the other furious fans at goodison park.
After the protestor had been removed, the match restarted as normal.
