‘El Chicle’ returns to court for 2005 rape of his sister-in-law – EFE News

Santiago de Compostela, November 22 (EFE).- José Enrique Abuín Gey alias ‘El Chicle’, who remains in the Mansilla de las Mulas prison in Leon serving his sentence to a revisable permanent prison for the murder of Diana Quer, will return this Tuesday was tried for sexually assaulting his sister-in-law in January 2005, when she was 17.

The Provincial Court of La Coruna welcomes the hearing against this man, who should testify at the beginning of the trial, before the complainant, the twin sister of the one who, at the time of the alleged aggression, was the wife of the accused , with whom he will later have a daughter.

The Public Ministry and the Private Prosecutor’s Office are both asking for 15 years in prison in a case dismissed in 2005 but reopened in March 2018 after the judge detected similarities between this case and the crime of the young Madrilenian Diana Quer, coinciding with the same modus operandi.

According to the prosecution, the defendant convinced his sister-in-law to take him by car to the institute, but he deviated from the route until he stopped the tourism in a park in the municipality of Lousame (A Coruña) and, once there, he took her mobile phone and brutalized her with a knife.

It was then that he forced her to have sex, “still showing the knife and sliding it down her body and pressing it lightly to increase the fear” of her sister-in-law.

In order to prevent her from reporting it and telling their loved ones that they had in common, the defendant told the victim that if she reported it, he would kill her parents, her sister -the defendant’s wife at the time- and herself.

For the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the facts denounced constitute a crime of sexual assault with vaginal carnal access for which he is asking for fifteen years in prison for this man who has already been sentenced to the maximum custodial sentence for the crime of Diana Quer .
