The UFC is reportedly planning a heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis (26-8) and Tai Tuivasa (14-3) for its pay-per-view UFC 271 event in Houston on February 12.
Lewis is a Houston-native and lost an interim title fight against Ciryl Gane in his hometown back in August, saying the pressure of performing in front of his fellow Houstonians affected his performance. The 36-year-old heavyweight is a former two-time title challenger, losing via third-round TKO in his latest title shot against Gane.

The February pay-per-view will mark his first contest back in Houston since that loss, and will look to add to his record for most knockouts in UFC history with 13. He recorded a first-round KO over Chris Daukaus in his most recent bout back in December in Las Vegas.
Tuivasa is on a four-fight win streak, knocking out his last four opponents, including three in 2021. The scheduled main event for UFC 271 will be a middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya (21-1) and Robert Whittaker (23-5).
