Denmark is taking the initiative to show the world that they will not accept a dhimmi role at the FIFA World Games, since Qatar is essentially demanding. In doing so, Denmark stands up for human rights and openly opposes Sharia oppression. Congratulations to Denmark. Let’s hope other Western countries that claim to support human rights do the same.
“Denmark set to lead FIFA European withdrawal over bracelet dispute”, by Phillip Buckingham and Jacob Whitehead, The Atlantic, November 23, 2022:
Denmark has revealed that it is ready to discuss a general withdrawal from FIFA along with other nations from UEFA amid the ongoing dispute over the #OneLove armbands.
On Monday, seven European teams that planned to wear the anti-discrimination armbands to protest Qatar’s human rights record backed down from the plan after FIFA threatened them with sporting sanctions.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday morning, Danish FA (DBU) CEO Jakob Jensen revealed that a yellow card was the “minimum” punishment captain Simon Kjaer would have faced.
“On November 21, England requested an emergency meeting with FIFA, who came to the English hotel,” Jensen revealed. “FIFA said they would at least give a yellow card.
“It has been disputed whether there is a legal basis for giving a yellow card, but there is. The sanction could be a yellow card, that the captain had not entered the field or that they gave him a sanction.
The DBU delegation revealed the “anger” this has caused and stated that they would not formally support incumbent President Gianni Infantino in his re-election bid. Infantino is standing unopposed.
“There are presidential elections in FIFA. There are 211 countries in FIFA and I understand that the current president has declarations of support from 207 countries,” said DBU president Jesper Moller. “Denmark is not among those countries. And we won’t be either.”
Moller also revealed that Denmark was considering leaving FIFA and was willing to discuss this with the organization’s 55 member states.
“It is not a decision that has been made now. We have been clear for a long time. We have been discussing it in the Nordic region since August,” he said…….
