The Dallas Cowboys (11-5) take on the Philadelphia Eagles (9-7) on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field in the final week of the 2021 NFL regular season.
Although both teams can improve their record and their playoff position, many consider that because it is the last game of the season and because of some absences, there is not much at stake, but the history of this rivalry indicates otherwise.
END OF 1ST QTR – Cowboys 10-7 Eagles
Minshew started the Eagles drive near the half of the field after a great kick return. DeVonta Smith caught back-to-back passes from Minshew to become the rookie with most receiving yards in franchise history.
1ST QTR – 1:37 – Zuerlein gives Cowboys lead with 48-yard FG
After a three-and-out for Minshew and the Eagles, Prescott started the second Cowboys possession of the night on their own 42. He started the drive with a 29-yard completion to Cooper, but Eagles defenders stopped him from moving forward. Cowboys settled for a field goal score from 48 yards out.

Dak Prescott completed a 4th down pass to Amari Cooper, extending the drive to subsequently end in a TD catch by Cedrick Wilson on the 10th play of the drive.
1ST QTR – 9:41 – Minshew leads Eagles to first score of the night
One of Minshew’s early passes got deflected by a Cowboys defender, but luckily got caught by DeVonta Smith for a 25-yard completion. A first down run by Kenneth Gainwell on 3rd & 3 extended the Eagles drive before Minshew’s shovel pass to Tyree Jackson for the first score of the night – it was Jackson’s first catch in the NFL.
Kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field
Cowboys won the toss and have deferred, Eagles receive. Gardner Minshew will start on his own 25.
Cowboys take the field
Cowboys need a win to prove they’re worthy of making a Super Bowl run. Dak Prescott has something to prove of his own after a terrible display last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Gardner Minshew warming up
Gardner Minshew will start in place of Jalen Hurts (rest) and will look to upset Dallas despite the Eagles’ playoff picture remaining relatively the same with a win or loss.
Cowboys arrive at Lincoln Financial Field
Cowboys will look to get a win to head into the playoffs with rhythm. Unlike Philadelphia, most Dallas starters will be on the field. Dak Prescott needs five touchdown passes to break Tony Romo’s record for most TDs by a Cowboys QB in a single season.
Jalen Hurts arrives at Lincoln Financial Field
Jalen Hurts will rest for this game, giving Gardner Minshew all of the snaps against America’s Team.
This game pits the top two teams in the Eastern Division of the National Conference against each other in a game that was originally scheduled for Sunday noon, but the league announced the date change.
