Charles Barkley develops rivalry with Michael Jordan

Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan were childhood friends. Despite being on-court rivals, the two often hung out outside of games. They also appeared together on an episode of Oprah.

Unfortunately, their relationship is non-existent now. This all stems from some comments Barkley made about how Jordan runs the Charlotte Hornets. Consequently, Jordan became very upset and has not spoken to Charles since.

Just a few weeks ago, Barkley was open and honest about his fallout. He spoke in detail about everything, and the fans were interested in the story. He later spoke about it again, this time with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks. As you’ll see below, Barkley felt that he needed to be honest with MJ and that no one gets through, even if you’re his friend.

“It’s a really unfortunate situation for him and me,” Barkley said. “But I’m going to do my job first and foremost because I can’t criticize other coaches and general managers and give him a pass because he’s my best friend. I just can’t do that.

“I said that and I had no problem saying it because it was the truth. And she was offended. She called me and it was not a pleasant conversation. And we haven’t spoken since.”

Jordan is known for being the Michael Jordan of grudges. He still hates Isiah Thomas, and his anger at Barkley still seems to run deep. Having said that, a reconciliation seems highly unlikely at this point.
