Canelo Alvarez to undergo surgery on his left arm, his recovery will take six weeks

Saul Canelo Alvarez defeated Gennady Golovkin by unanimous decision, but in the end, not everything was honey, the Mexican will have surgery on his left hand and he may not train for about six weeks.

Canelo defeated Triple G, but not by knockout as promised. In a recent interview, he was asked what happened to him that he did not throw too many power punches, Alvarez was surprised, saying that he has been having problems with his left hand for several months and will need some time to recover and rest.

“I need to have surgery on my arm. They should clean my hand it will be with a laser and it will take me six weeks to recover.”

“I couldn’t train one hundred percent, I couldn’t prepare well because of my arm, boxing is about punching, and in training I couldn’t.”

The injury was received as a result of several fights back.

Canelo commented that the discomfort in his arm is related to the fight with Caleb Plant and even the last fight with Golovkin. This is that he was already hurt against Dmitry Bivol.

“After Caleb Plant, I had an injury, but because of inattention, you miss time, you think that nothing will happen. But here’s the result, I don’t like to lose.”
