Canada includes 400,000 more jobs for immigrants to apply for


The provinces of Ontario and Saskatchewan in Canada recently announced a total of around 400,000 new job openings, leading you to about 994,800 open positions within Canada.

The job vacancy rate (total number of vacant positions as a proportion of labor demand) increased to 5.7%, indicating the need to fill positions amid employee shortages.

The sectors with the most job vacancies are health and social care, accommodation and food services, retail trade, professional, scientific and technical services, and manufacturing. These sectors are highlighted below.

Health and Social Assistance: Health care and social assistance had about 159,500 open positions in September, up from a record number of openings in August.

The sector has witnessed a 25% increase in job postings year on year due to the high demand for professionals such as doctors, nurses, physicians, surgeons, etc.

Lodging and Food Services: This sector usually needs labor, accommodation and food services. In September, there were a total of about 152,400 open positions.

Retail follows below: The retail trade had a slight increase in job offers, with 117,300 vacancies in September. This indicates that this sector has a continuing need for workers.

Canadian Manufacturing Sector: This sector has 76,000 vacancies in September; from about 92,100 in just a month prior.

Scientific and Technical Services: This sector includes accounting, legal, architecture and engineering, computer systems design, management consulting, advertising and other services that had around 61,900 job vacancies.
