Burger King is adding matcha cake to its menu in Japan for a limited time

This is not an exercise, matcha lovers!

This year, Burger King Japan launched a series of new desserts aimed at adults under the name “Watakushi no“, resulting in “My“. So far, the series has included limited-time desserts such as My caramel dessert, My sweet potato pieand recently the so-called My cake with hot milk tea.

Now that winter is approaching, the network is really focusing on what the locals want, announcing the latest release in the series:

My Winter Matcha Cake

This delicious-looking dessert uses Uji matcha from a long-established tea brand from Kyoto Morihanincorporating it into both the dough and the filling it also contains Hokkaido adzuki beans.

▼ Morihan has been operating on the market for over 180 years.

The center of matcha cream is said to have “elegant sweetness and moderate bitterness‘, and its smooth richness creates a pleasant contrast to the chewy beans and crispy pastry casing.

My Winter Matcha Pie will be available for a limited time only, while supplies last from November 25, and to further entice customers, the cake will be offered at a special “Trial Price” of 220 yen, 20 yen off the regular retail price of 240 yen, only for a week, from November 25 to December 1.

It looks like the cake will be a great way to keep warm this winter for matcha lovers, and it’s certainly a less guilty indulgence than the huge matcha desserts we tried at Komeda Coffee earlier this year.
