We are not sure hat happened to the Philadelphia 76ers tonight but the Boston Celtics are still on a winning streak that extended to 8 consecutive games before tonight. The 76ers aren’t doing terrible but they certainly are not doing as well as the Boston Celtics right now. They currently have both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum playing at an elite level, which is the main reason they have been winning so many straight games lately. Stopping that momentum will be quite complicated for any team in the NBA right now. Plain and simple, the Boston Celtics are amongst the most competitive teams in the league right now. After the Heat’s latest result, it’s safe to say Boston and Chicago are playing better at the moment.
Jaylen Brown was the top scorer of this game with 29 points but Jayson Tatum wasn’t far behind with 28 points. Tatum also contributed defensively with 12 rebounds and made it clear to stop Joel Embiid during the entire game. As far as the big man goes, he simply wasn’t having his night this evening. Not having James Harden tonight affected the 76ers’ aspirations to get a new victory. Embiid seemed a little burned out with only 19 points this evening. The Celtics‘ domination was so great that they ended with an impressive 135-87 victory against the Sixers.
What’s next for Celtics and 76ers?
After tonight’s defeat, the Philadelphia 76ers reached a 34-23 record and will rest for a day before facing Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks next Thursday. The Boston Celtics reached a 34-25 record after tonight’s win as they continue their winning streak. Up next, they have a relatively easy rival on Wednesday as they play against the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden. If everything goes as expected, the Boston Celtics will reach their tenth consecutive victory tomorrow without a problem.
