Bentley promises five new electric cars by 2030, including a new model in 2025 – zimo news


  • Bentley is following up on previously announced electrification plans, saying it will launch its first all-electric model in 2025.
  • Today’s announcement is in line with a commitment made in 2019 to build Bentley’s last internal combustion engine in 2030.

    Bentley confirmed its electrification commitment in a press conference today, but plans to switch to electric vehicles are nothing new. The British luxury brand first detailed its electrification plans in 2019, saying it will build the final combustion engine as early as 2030. Now the company has made progress on that timeline, saying it plans to launch a fully electric vehicle in 2025, followed by an electric vehicle.     While a full EV should get some attention, Bentley has also hinted that we could see a more powerful plug-in hybrid before ditching combustion altogether. We know a hybrid version of the Continental is on the way, but Rabe also promises a “more powerful” PHEV in the mid-term. Given that both of Bentley’s plug-ins use V-6 power elsewhere in the group, that suggests a more powerful V-8 system from the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid could be added, which Lamborghini insiders tell us it will be in the next Urus use.
