Sam Bennett did it again. Bora-Hansgrohe Irish sprinter, already won on saturdaywith Italian Edoardo Affini the team’s first driver in a massive sprint on Sunday’s third stage of the Tour of Spain in Breda, the Netherlands Treasure Wisma Cross the line this Sunday and bring your team leader’s red jersey.
As in the previous day’s race in Utrecht, Bennett passed Dane Mads Pederson (Trek-Segafredo) on the line and third on the stage from the Arkéa-Samsic formation Daniel McRae won the British in the hands. The day was marked by Michael Woods (Israel – Premier Tech) retiring after a fall. The Canadian climber was evacuated to a hospital for further examination, and no serious injuries were found.
3rd Jumbo-Visma rider in red
The red jersey will stay with the Jumbo-Visma team, which won Inaugural Team Time Trial Friday, and Affini will carry it on his shoulders when Stage 4 begins on Tuesday after Monday’s rest day. Dutch team members Gesink and Teunissen were the first wearers of the 77th Vuelta red tunic.
