- More than 200,000 US citizens are “Documented Dreamers,” children who came to the US legally with their families.
- But when those children reach the age of 21, they have an age outside of their parents’ visa.
- In the worst possible cases, some have to evacuate themselves and leave their families behind.
Laurens Van Beek, 25, grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, for most of his life. He went to elementary school, middle school, high school and graduated with a degree in computer science at the University of Iowa.
