Four crew members of a U.S. military plane died after an accident in Norway during a NATO exercise, Norwegian police confirmed Saturday.
“Unfortunately, Four people on board have been confirmed dead”, explained Nordland Regional Police Chief Ivan Bonilson.
“To the best of police knowledge, all four are U.S. nationals,” he added.
Police have launched an investigation and the accident committee has been notified, while the Ministry of Defence has notified relatives.
The rescue team reported that They will not be able to retrieve the body this Saturday due to bad weather.
The V-22 Osprey is participating in NATO’s Cold Reaction Exercise (“Cold Reaction”) in northern Norway, as confirmed by Lieutenant Colonel Ivar Moen.
