Actress Rachel Zegler not invited to the Oscars despite 'West Side Story' nominations

It is inexplicable that with seven nominations for the highest award given by the most prestigious film academy in the world, a week before the 94th edition of the awards ceremony, actress Rachel Zegler has still not been invited.

Through social networks the actress of the film West Side Story confessed that no one had requested her presence at the gala night.

The news was leaked

After posting on her social networks some images with the caption “a quarter of a year well spent”, the 20-year-old received a comment from her followers where she gives her cue to talk about how she would go dressed to the Oscar Awards.

“Can’t wait to see what you’ll be wearing on Oscar night,” noted a message to which Rachel immediately and nonchalantly replied.

“I’m not invited, so sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel,” she confessed.

It should be noted that director Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story received seven Oscar nominations – including one for Best Picture – but this was not a compelling argument for inviting Rachel Zegler.

“I’m hoping some last-minute miracle happens and I get to celebrate our film in person, but hey, that’s the way things go sometimes, I guess.

Thanks for all the commotion and outrage, I’m disappointed too. But that’s okay. I’m very proud of our film,” he mentioned.

The Academy Awards will take place this March 27, with Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes as presenters.
