Israeli forces shot dead a 16-year-old Palestinian in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian officials said Wednesday.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that 16-year-old Ahmad Amjad Shehada died after Israeli forces fired a live bullet into his heart, the Wafa news agency reported.
The medical sources added that four other Palestinians were injured, one of them critically wounded with a bullet to the abdomen, noting that one was hit in the head by a sound bomb, while others suffered suffocation from inhaling toxic gases shot at them. the soldiers
“The result of the Israeli ‘occupation’ aggression in Nablus until 12:10 p.m.: one child was killed, one was seriously wounded in the abdomen and three have stable injuries,” the ministry stated.
The Israeli army claimed that it was attacked and responded with live fire.
“He is the 200th Palestinian killed by Israel this year, and the 51st child,” the Understanding Middle East Institute tweeted.
Nearly 500,000 illegal Jewish settlers currently live in the occupied West Bank in communities considered illegal by most of the international community, along with some 2.9 million Palestinians.
