Valladolid (EFE).- Castilla y León accumulated 9,830 births between January and September this year, 0.39% more than in the same period of 2021 (9,792) but 9.29% less than in 2019, before the pandemic, when in these nine months the Community registered 10,833 births.

According to the report on births published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), in September there were 1,106 births in Castilla y León, 3.9% of the 28,381 registered that month in Spain.

The national cumulation until September was 245,707 births, which represents 1.64% less than during the same period of 2021 and -8.33% less than the cumulation of these nine months of 2019, according to data collected by the EFE.

For province, and in the first nine months of 2022, births were 643 in Ávila (-2.66% less than in 2021), 1,578 in Burgos (+1.87%), of which 1,650 in León (- 3.75%), 734 in Palencia (+19.18%), 1,335 in Salamanca (0.62); 609 in Segovia (-15.36%), 382 in Soria (-2.75), of which 2,406 in Valladolid (+5.26) and 492 in Zamora (-6.48%)

Deaths: 26,315 until September, 9.9 more than in 2021 and 10.85 more than in 2019

As for deaths, until September there were 26,315 in the Community, 2,389 more than a year ago and 2,576 more than in 2019, with increases of 9.99 and 10.85% in each case.

In September alone, Castilla y León registered 554 deaths, one more than in the same month of 2021, and 15 more than the 539 in this month of 2019.

In the national group, there have been 381,247 deaths so far this year, 4.15% more than a year ago and 11.52% more than in 2019, before the pandemic.

Only Zamora recorded fewer deaths until September

By province, until September there were 1,741 deaths in Ávila, 4.68% more than the previous year and 2.58% more than in 2019; with 3,621 in Burgos, 12.04 and 14.23% more than in the first nine months of 2021 and 2019; and 5,768 in León, an increase of 13.58 and 13.18%.

In Palencia, the deceased were 1,896 until September, which is 0.87 and 7.93% more than in 2021 and 2019; with 3,803 in Salamanca, an increase of 16.9 and 12.67; 1,478 from Segovia, an increase of 7.10 and 5.04; 1,051 in Soria, the rebound of 8.10 and 12.26; 4,727 in Valladolid, an increase of 7.73 and 16.38%; and 2,231 in Zamora, i.e. 7.24 and -0.29% less.EFE
